Congrats all around!

  • New England Wallies Jen Funk, Katherine Rooks, and Margaret Draft graduated this past July. We had the pleasure of hearing Jen reading at the end of last season, and Katherine will help kick us off at the first reading this season. Please join us in welcoming them to the afterlife!
  • Bob Oldshue’s first book, NOVEMBER STORM (University of Iowa Press), will be launching on October 15th in Jamaica Plain. Be sure to bring your wallets to the first reading of the series, as he will have copies to sell. Many congratulations, Bob!
  • A belated but heartfelt congratulations to Wallies Scott Challener and Cynthia Gunadi, and faculty member Chris Castellani, for winning grants this year from the Massachusetts Cultural Council! The MCC Artist Fellowships program “recognizes exceptional work by Massachusetts artists across a range of disciplines.”

We will be intermittently posting news and congratulations in this space, and would love to spread your literary news! If you have something to share, send it our way: newenglandwallies@gmail.com

    1. Hi Mark! For now we’ll probably keep the news to just the local folks–we’re not trying to replace the FOW blog, which also rounds up publication news and congratulations. However, if you end up coming through the area and would like to share an event that NE Wallies can attend (a reading, a book launch, etc.), we are more than happy to share! Hope this helps.
